


Available in the BL4040F 4.0Ah and BL4080H 8.0Ah High-Output batteries, Makita’s next-generation tabless lithium-ion cells are designed to deliver higher power output, improved thermal management and enhanced overall battery performance.
Traditional lithium-ion cells use tabs to connect the electrode to the cell, creating areas where electrical current can become concentrated. Tabless cells remove this bottleneck by connecting the entire end of the electrode to the cell, allowing energy to flow more efficiently. Heavy duty cell casing significantly improves the batteries impact resistance.
Under heavy load, the large polar area inside the cells helps reduce heat generation and maintain a lower cell temperature, which contributes to improved battery service life and consistent performance during demanding applications.
The improved thermal performance also allows the battery to be charged immediately after intense continuous use, without requiring a cooling phase. Reduced heat build-up during charging supports shorter charging times, helping maximise productivity when using multiple batteries throughout the working day.
When paired with XGT tools specifically designed to take advantage of their increased output, such as the UC030G XGT Rear-handle Chainsaw, both our tabless batteries can deliver approximately 35% higher performance compared to the standard BL4040 and BL4080 batteries, allowing users to maximise the performance of their tools in the most demanding applications.
